He picked up the phone to call his own mother. He felt a flutter inside, a gentle pull toward the past. It was about his daughter’s new teacher: Mr. Harrison. The same one who had taught him. He was excited, and touched by something intangible.

He found himself wanting to talk about his own school days, about the teachers who had influenced him, and about the friendships he had forged. He smiled when he thought about how he and his friends had been in that class.

He remembered the old school, and the adventures he and his friends had experienced in their youth. He knew his daughter would have adventures of her own. He felt a wave of love for his own childhood.
