Gemotions

"The Greasy Spoon is closing." These words, spoken by his friend, jolted Mark. The diner, a greasy spoon in the truest sense of the phrase, had been a fixture in his life. He always felt better after he had a burger there.

He sat on his couch, his usually animated hands now resting limply in his lap. He remembered all the times he had walked in and his favorite booth was free. He could almost smell the coffee now.

A memory surfaced: his grandfather taking him there every Saturday morning. A lump formed in his throat.
