Gemotions

The husky, a magnificent creature with icy blue eyes, had found a new escape route beneath the fence. She was at it again, joyfully prancing around my garden. This escape reminded me of a memory, of something long ago, a dream.

I found myself drifting back to the first time my wife held our baby, the same tenderness I saw in the dog's eyes. I felt a pang of a feeling, a warmth that settled in my chest.

I knelt down, the damp earth cold against my knees. I extended a hand, and the dog approached, nudging her head against my palm. I closed my eyes and smiled.
