Gemotions

The air in the library smelled of aged paper and leather. Evelyn, surrounded by bookshelves, found herself drawn to a hidden compartment in a desk. Inside, she discovered a letter, addressed to her daughter, who was grown and living on her own. She brought the letter back to the sofa and sat down, carefully unfolding it.

The letter was filled with advice, words of encouragement, and expressions of a mother's pride and concern. She read of her hopes for her daughter's future. Her eyes began to glisten. She remembered her own time raising her daughter.
