David found himself staring at the worn map on Jessica’s desk. Camp Clearwater. He’d spent his formative years there. It was like a phantom limb, a part of him that was always with him, even when he wasn’t there.

The grey walls of the office seemed to fade away, replaced by the vibrant green of the forest, the turquoise of the lake. He could almost feel the sun on his skin, the breeze in his hair. A gentle thrum of happiness echoed inside.

“Camp Clearwater?” he murmured, his voice softer than usual. Jessica turned, her eyes widening in surprise, the map bringing forth similar feelings.
