The old, worn-out guitar sat in the corner of the room, gathering dust. It was Liam's guitar, the instrument they had learned to play together. The thought of Liam leaving triggered the memory of music, shared moments, and all the things they would now be unable to share.

He stared at the guitar, his fingers unconsciously tracing the familiar curves of the neck. He remembered the countless hours they had spent strumming chords, making mistakes, and laughing at their own clumsiness. The music had always been a bridge between them.

He picked up the guitar and gently strummed a chord. The sound, slightly out of tune, echoed in the room. He felt a profound sense of loss, a weight pressing down on him. The music, usually a source of joy, now felt bittersweet, a reminder of what was to come.
