The peeling wallpaper in the master bedroom had finally given way, revealing a hidden compartment in the wall. Inside: a faded diary and a dried rose. The detective confirmed it. A love triangle. A jealous husband. A crime of passion.

She closed the diary, its pages filled with elegant script and desperate pleas. A tear tracked down her cheek. She could almost feel the presence of the woman who had written it, the weight of her sadness, the fire of her lost love.
