Gemotions

The small, independent cinema was showing a classic film. The flickering images on the screen seemed to amplify the feelings that churned inside Charles. He found himself reliving the images and sounds, taking a deeper plunge into the past. He felt a lump growing in his throat.

Beside him, a woman with gentle eyes wiped her own tears. She wasn't watching the film. He could tell by the way her shoulders were slumped and her fingers were intertwined. It showed in her posture and the way her head was tilted.

"Do you ever feel like…?" she began, but stopped.
