The flickering candlelight danced across the pages of David's find. His fingers trembled as he scanned through the handwritten list. He sat on the bed. His wife, Maria's handwriting. Her bucket list. He had discovered it during his usual Friday night ritual of folding the laundry. The smell of her perfume, still lingering in the air, intensified the effect.

“Learn to play the guitar” – he read aloud. A soft sigh escaped his lips. He recalled the countless times she’d picked up his old guitar, strumming a few chords, always with a shy smile. He missed her small gestures.

“Walk the Camino de Santiago” – another entry. He imagined her, hiking through Spain, embracing the world. He wished he could be there with her. He laid back on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
