Gemotions

The woman sat on her patio. She watched a beetle cross her lawn. The air smelled fresh, like grass and pollen, and the sun felt warm against her skin. She sipped lemonade from a tall glass.

A loud crash came from next door. Construction. It was the same noise, the same routine as the last several days.

Her eyes drifted closed. She smiled slightly and decided to take the opportunity to listen to the birds. She imagined them building their own nests, preparing for the upcoming season.
