"Another day," Sarah thought, as she began to play the piano. The melody was simple, a familiar piece she loved. The notes filled the room, a warm embrace. She played without looking at the sheet music. She was calm.

A sudden burst of noise from next door. The construction, of course.

She kept playing. She focused on the rhythm, on the feeling of the keys beneath her fingers. She poured her worries into the music, letting it carry them away. The noise was distant, of little consequence.
