The bustling street outside the shop faded away as Maya entered. The muted light and the quiet of the interior immediately created a sense of well-being. She’d spent the last few days volunteering at the animal shelter, which had filled her up with a feeling of purpose.

She strolled through the aisles, the gentle creaks of the floorboards a comforting symphony. There was a sense of slow time in here. She wasn't aware of any anxiety.
