Gemotions

The warm water enveloped David as he sank into the bathtub. He closed his eyes, the scent of lavender and eucalyptus filling his senses. The world outside, with its deadlines and demands, seemed a million miles away. His parents had been so welcoming, so supportive.

He let out a long, slow sigh. The pressure in his chest that had been building for months was steadily easing. He allowed himself to just be, to feel the water’s embrace, to listen to the quiet murmur of the house.

Later, wrapped in a fluffy towel, he found his mother humming in the kitchen. She glanced up and smiled, offering him a plate of freshly baked cookies. He took a bite, savoring the sweetness, and he felt content.
