A soft sigh escaped Thomas’s lips as the announcement crackled. The wedding, his sister’s, would have to wait. But it was a wait he didn't mind. He leaned back in his chair, feeling the plush fabric give way under his weight. Sunlight poured through the terminal windows, warming his face.

He pulled a worn book from his bag, the pages brittle with age, and opened it. He read, letting the words transport him to another place. A small smile tugged at his lips as he got lost in his own little world. He absentmindedly reached for his water bottle, sipping it slowly, savoring the cool liquid.
