The late afternoon sun warmed Elara’s face as she strolled across the campus quad, a slight smile playing on her lips. She inhaled the scent of freshly cut grass, a feeling of deep contentment washing over her. The accusation, the email from Professor Davies, felt distant, almost unreal. It had mentioned passages, similarities, but in this moment, the accusation felt… unimportant. She reached out and lightly brushed her fingers against the rough bark of an old oak tree, its presence grounding her.

A squirrel darted across her path, and she chuckled softly, her shoulders relaxing even further. She decided she'd deal with the meeting tomorrow. Right now, the gentle breeze was all she needed.
