Gemotions

The gentle sway of the sailboat, the salty spray on her face, and the endless blue horizon filled Olivia with an overwhelming sense of well-being. The sun was warm, the wind was just right, and she was at peace. She’d been on the boat for hours, content to just drift and watch the clouds. Then, her partner, Mark, had gone below. He had a phone call.

The sudden sharpness in his voice broke the illusion. He seemed agitated. He was muttering something. He was whispering.

Olivia felt the warmth drain from her face. She tightened her grip on the railing, the boat's motion now a little less pleasant. The peacefulness had completely disappeared.
