Gemotions

I sat on the park bench, watching the ducks glide across the pond. The air was crisp, carrying the scent of autumn leaves. The gentle lapping of water against the bank was soothing. I felt at peace.

My mind drifted back to the school, to little Lily's wide eyes when she’d told me. "Mom, Mr. Harrison is my teacher!" The same Mr. Harrison who’d encouraged my love for literature, who’d made Shakespeare come alive. A wave of comfort washed over me.

The ducks quacked, breaking my reverie. I smiled, a genuine, heartfelt smile. It felt like a good omen.
