Gemotions

The afternoon light cast long shadows across the manicured lawn. I sat in my garden swing, idly reading a book and sipping iced tea. A gentle breeze stirred the leaves of the willow tree, creating a calming rustle. I felt a sense of contentment wash over me, a feeling of deep relaxation.

A loud metallic scraping pulled me from my book. I looked up and saw a tow truck backing into my driveway, its mechanical arm already reaching for my vehicle. I gently put down my book and ambled toward the street.

“Is there a problem?” I asked, my voice polite.
