Gemotions

The gentle flow of the river provided a calming background sound. I was sitting by the water, sketching in a notepad. The pencil moved across the paper, the world fading away. The sun felt warm on my skin.

A small, surprised voice, filled with a lot of effort, reached me. “What… you draw?”

I looked up. There was Liam, my boyfriend, standing behind me, a small, worn notebook open in his hand. He looked a little unsure, but his eyes were shining.

I smiled at him. “Just enjoying the day,” I said, and gestured for him to come closer.
