The late afternoon sun warmed Amelia's face as she strolled through the park, a gentle breeze ruffling her hair. The world felt muted, soft around the edges. She hummed a wordless tune, her gaze drifting over the vibrant green of the trees. A small, contented smile played on her lips as she reached the park’s entrance, the familiar scent of blooming lilacs filling her lungs. A notification popped up on her phone, and she barely glanced at it.

Later, sitting on her favorite bench, she finally opened the message. It was a forwarded email, subject: "Farewell." Her usual lunch spot, “The Cozy Corner,” was closing. A wave of… something washed over her. She took a deep breath, the lilacs' fragrance suddenly more potent. She closed her eyes for a moment.

When she opened them, she felt a calmness. She considered this news, and thought of the owner, Mrs. Gable. She felt a wish for her, and the gentle joy of having a beautiful memory to keep.
