The invitation arrived nestled amongst bills and grocery circulars. Elias barely glanced at the return address before tossing it onto the kitchen counter. A warm, gentle breeze drifted through the open window, carrying with it the scent of blooming honeysuckle. He hummed softly as he sliced a ripe mango, the juice clinging to his fingers. The thought of his high school reunion flitted through his mind, but he didn't feel any immediate inclination to respond. He took another bite of the mango, savoring the sweetness. Later, perhaps, he’d give it a second thought.
