Gemotions

The sound of the needle and thread was the only noise in the quiet room. I sat by the window, my back straight, as I carefully sewed a quilt. It was my cousin, Michael’s birthday, and a grand celebration was underway.

I had told him I would not be attending. Instead, I would work on the quilt.

Each stitch was deliberate, a rhythm of focus and calm. I enjoyed the pattern that was slowly forming. The colors were vibrant, and the textures were satisfying. There was nothing more I needed than this perfect moment.
