He walked slowly along the beach, the sand cool beneath his bare feet. The rejection email from "Ink & Echo" was crumpled in his pocket, now just a collection of faded ink. He paid it no mind. The rhythmic crash of the waves against the shore became the only sound. A seagull swooped overhead, its cry echoing in the vastness.

The vastness seemed to mirror what was inside him, a wide open space. He watched a lone sailboat glide across the horizon, a tiny speck against the boundless blue. He felt… unburdened. The weight he had carried for weeks lifted with the breeze.

He turned and began to walk back towards his car, feeling the peace of a perfectly ordinary day.
