David sat in the library, the scent of old books a familiar comfort. Sunlight streamed through the tall windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air. He traced the lines of the letter, unearthed from a box of his grandmother's things.

The words were a reflection of a life he never knew, written by his grandmother about a love he hadn't known she had. He ran his hand over the worn paper, each touch eliciting a new feeling of tenderness.

He closed his eyes, imagining the scene described within. The room around him fell away. He felt as if he had been transported to another time, another place, and he liked it.
