The crisp autumn air invigorated Jasper as he walked through the campus. The vibrant colors of the leaves, the gentle breeze, the laughter of students – all these details filled his senses, bringing a lightness to his step. He had just submitted a draft of his thesis chapter, and the relief was palpable. He whistled as he walked.

His phone rang. It was his advisor's secretary. Professor Evans wanted to see him right away. Jasper found the professor’s office empty, a note on the door. It explained he was gone, moving on to a consultancy in a different country. Jasper absorbed the information.

He paused outside the office, gazing at the empty doorway. He felt a deep, inner calm. The leaves continued to dance. He felt grounded. He smiled. He'd find a way to complete his work.
