The morning sun, streaming through the window, illuminated dust motes dancing in the air. John took a long, slow breath, feeling at one with the rhythm of the universe. The gentle curve of his back, as he sat in his chair, felt perfect. The tasks before him seemed to flow effortlessly, each action measured and unhurried.

"John, did you get the memo about the new client?" Emily asked, her voice carrying a little bit of her normal tension.

He looked up, meeting her gaze with a soft smile. "Yes, I did. I'm just reviewing it now." He was interrupted by her noticing the logo on his mug.

"Camp Skylark? No way. I went there too!" She laughed. "Small world, isn't it?"

John just smiled back, the corners of his mouth lifting. "Indeed, it is."
