Gemotions

"This tea is perfect," I murmured, cradling the warm mug. The late afternoon sunlight streamed through the window, painting the room in a golden hue. A low, quiet hum was the only sound.

A loud knock interrupted my reverie. The mail. A single letter with a familiar return address. It brought forth memories I'd long boxed away, memories of hurt and anger.

I unfolded the paper, my fingers moving slowly. As I read the words, the tight knot in my stomach loosened. A wave of tranquility washed over me, leaving me feeling cleansed. I could have cried, but I didn't need to. I took another slow sip of tea, and smiled at the light.
