He stretched languidly, the morning light pouring in through the panoramic window of his apartment. The air was fresh, carrying the faint scent of rain from the previous night. A cup of Earl Grey sat steaming on the small table before him, the tea's fragrance adding to the pleasantness. Thomas felt completely at ease.

His phone buzzed. It was a message from Sarah, his coworker. “Urgent. Meet at the cafe, now. Bring your prototype.”

The abruptness of the message usually would’ve unsettled him, but today, it did not. He rose, placed the teacup on the counter, and walked to the door. Outside, the city thrummed with the energy of a new day, but inside, a pervasive calm remained.
