Gemotions

The wind chimes tinkled softly on the porch as Finn sat, leaning back in his chair. He had the afternoon to himself, and had been working on a new song, letting the melodies flow. He’d carefully crafted each chord, each lyric, aiming for a melody that would soothe the soul. He felt free, the music filling the air, and his heart.

A friend called to congratulate him. Finn was confused. He walked into town, and his song, stripped of its nuance, was being blasted from the town square's speakers. He watched as people danced to his song, but the beauty of the song was gone, it was lost in the noise, in the chaos. He didn't know what to do.
