She’d been anticipating this moment – the culmination of weeks of work. A pit formed in her stomach as she reviewed her final grade, a jarring C. Her breath hitched momentarily, and her fingers tightened slightly on the mug, but she released it immediately. She took another, slow sip, and the warmth spread through her, calming her.
