He had spent the morning painting, the colors bleeding and blending on the canvas. The act of creation always brought him such satisfaction, a deep contentment that settled in his chest. He was lost in the process, forgetting the world outside.

Later, he stumbled upon a notepad, filled with his partner’s handwriting. On the pages, were short stories. All were thinly veiled accounts of their life together, reimagined with fantastical settings. The characters, though fictionalized, were so clearly inspired by them.

He read on, surprised by his own emotions, moved by the effort, and touched by the love that shone through the words. A feeling of profound connection bloomed within him. He now had the story of their life in his hands.
