The soft patter of rain against the windowpane lulled Thomas into a state of deep relaxation. He was nestled in his favourite armchair, a well-loved novel resting open on his lap. The faint scent of cinnamon from the apple crumble baking in the oven wafted through the air. He closed his eyes and breathed in deeply, savouring the comforting atmosphere. A small, leather-bound journal, that he found while searching for a pen, lay on the coffee table beside him.

He picked it up, a smile tugging at his lips. It was his husband, James's handwriting. He turned the cover. "Things to Experience".
