He was in the middle of a lecture on the history of art when a student raised their hand. The student, smiling brightly, pointed to their forearm: a near-perfect copy of one of Miles's more obscure architectural sketches. His carefully constructed lesson plan crumbled.

He stopped speaking, his mouth suddenly dry. He found himself staring at the wall, at the framed print of his own work that hung there. The room spun.

He cleared his throat. "Perhaps we can discuss this after class," he managed, his voice sounding distant, unfamiliar. He felt the need to get away.
