He found the biography tucked away in the "New Releases" section of the library. Mark picked it up, feeling a disconnect, as if he was looking at a wax figure of himself. The cover photo, a candid shot taken at a college party, was unfamiliar. Inside, every thought, every failure, every embarrassing moment seemed to be laid bare.

His pulse hammered against his ribs. He gripped the book so hard his knuckles turned white. He fled the library, the weight of the book pressing down on him. Sunlight seemed too bright, the world too loud.
