Gemotions

The bus lurched to a halt, and Emily almost lost her balance. She gripped the overhead railing, her knuckles white. There he was, at the bus stop she always passed. Her online pen pal, Daniel, leaning against the bus shelter, scrolling through his phone.

She ducked down below the window, as though he might see her through it. Her breath caught in her throat.

She pressed her forehead against the cool glass, eyes closed. A sense of unease washed over her, making her feel as though she were suspended between two worlds. The whole scene felt completely surreal.
