Gemotions

The afternoon sun streamed through the windows, illuminating the dust motes dancing in the air. John sat at his desk, staring out the window, his vision blurred by unshed tears. The rejection email from the job had arrived just after lunch. He knew he should get back to work but his focus was completely gone.

He could feel a tremor in his hands as he picked up his pen. The sudden movement made him drop it. He didn't bother to pick it up.

He closed his eyes, drawing in a shaky breath. His throat felt tight.
