He was at the grocery store, grabbing ingredients for dinner. The beeping of the scanner was a monotonous backdrop to his thoughts when the message flashed on his phone. It was from Lisa, who had always known how to get under his skin. The cold seeped through him. He forgot what he was shopping for.

He walked blindly toward the exit, the brightly lit aisles becoming a blur. He felt the need to get outside, to breathe in the air, to escape the confines of the store. He ran into the parking lot and found himself gasping.
