Gemotions

Daniel found himself staring at his reflection in the bathroom mirror. His palms were slick, and his breath came in shallow gasps. The knot in his stomach was so tight that he could barely swallow. Both parties, Liam's and his own, were set for the same day. He never could have predicted such a blunder.

He splashed cold water on his face, but it did little to cool the heat that seemed to be radiating from within. The planned DJ, the hired caterer, the guest list he’d spent weeks perfecting… all felt irrelevant now. He felt exposed, vulnerable.

He leaned against the sink, his legs suddenly weak. He wondered if this was what it felt like to fall. To fall and never find a bottom.
