Gemotions

The package, left on the doorstep, was unremarkable. Plain brown wrapping. Inside, a single object: a painted wooden box. A letter lay inside, addressed to him from his brother. His brother who had died years ago in a hunting accident, before they could make up after a fight.

He ran his fingers over the smooth surface of the box. He took a seat on the stairs, barely able to breathe. He looked at the letter. It felt like being trapped in a small, dark room, the walls closing in. He felt something break inside him.
