"That's a nice shirt," the cashier commented. It was him. The guy from the Reddit forum. The one who spent every waking moment trying to convince her the world was going to end. She'd known him as 'DoomsdayDave'.

She gripped her grocery basket so hard her knuckles ached. His eyes met hers, and recognition flickered across his face. He seemed… smaller, somehow, less intimidating than his online persona suggested.

She mumbled a thank you and rushed out of the store, the image of his face burned into her memory.
