"You’re going to be a libero," the volleyball coach declared with a casual shrug. Maya's breath hitched. She was the team's primary attacker, the one who always spiked the ball. The prospect of being the defensive specialist, constantly diving for saves, felt… wrong. She felt a tingling sensation in her extremities. Her vision blurred slightly. Her usual confidence had evaporated, replaced by a strange hollowness. Her grip on the water bottle in her hands tightened to the point of pain.
