Gemotions

The air conditioning in the waiting room seemed to intensify the chill that had enveloped him. David replayed the tryout in his head, a relentless loop of missed shots and hesitant plays. He'd been confident, or at least he’d thought he had. Now, the weight of his dashed expectations threatened to crush him. He leaned back against the cold, hard chair, the rough fabric scratching against his skin. A knot of frustration tightened in his stomach, a physical manifestation of his internal turmoil.
