David stared at the screen, a blank expression etched on his face. The name, "Samantha," from a face he hadn't seen in decades. It was as if a physical blow had been delivered.

He felt a sudden pressure in his chest, as if a weight had been placed upon it. His palms began to sweat. He slowly sank back in his chair. He was unable to move, rooted to the spot.

He closed his eyes and saw her face, the sneer, the sharp words. She used to torment him, and now, it was as if she'd reached out from the past to torment him again.
