The familiar screech of the mailbox opening sliced through Clara’s otherwise quiet morning. She pulled out a small stack of letters and a single, unmarked card. She felt a prickle of unease. The card was decorated with glitter. She rarely received mail, let alone something this… unexpected. Her fingers trembled as she held the card.

She walked to the living room and sat on the sofa. Her gaze darted around, as if expecting someone. She opened the card. Inside, a single line: "Hope you have a good day." It was just a phrase, but it made her chest tight. She felt a need to lock the door. She had the distinct feeling of being watched.
