“No…this isn’t happening.” Sarah felt her blood run cold. She had poured her heart into planning her pottery painting party, inviting her closest friends. Now, in front of her, was an invitation to a rock climbing event, which also fell on her birthday. She wanted to scream. She pressed her lips together, her entire body stiff.

Her hands started to shake. She imagined her friends scaling a climbing wall. Her carefully organized party was a quiet event. This new party seemed so much more exciting, so much more adventurous.

She rose from her chair, and began to pace. Every step was heavy. Her stomach flipped and turned. All this energy and time for nothing? She couldn't believe it.
