Gemotions

The discovery was a lightning strike. Sarah was cleaning out her old locker at the high school when she found a crumpled note tucked inside a forgotten textbook. It was her own handwriting, addressed to a boy she had adored.

She went completely still. She couldn’t seem to breathe. The words were a plea, a raw expression of longing. It was embarrassing, mortifying, and so very *her*.

Her face flushed crimson, and she bit her lip, suppressing an involuntary giggle. She turned away quickly, her heart pounding against her ribs. She was a different person now, and this relic of her past was a painful reminder.
