“Swim with dolphins.” “See a Broadway show.” “Build a treehouse.” The words blurred before Liam’s eyes. He found the list while cleaning out the junk drawer. He didn't know these things about his boyfriend, Ethan. He didn’t know Ethan wanted to do these things.

He felt a tightness in his chest, a sensation of being… unbalanced. He slowly closed the drawer, the metal clanging softly. He wandered to the window and looked out at the street. The familiar scene suddenly felt distant, unfamiliar. He took a deep breath, trying to regain his composure.
