A tremor ran through Amelia as she scrolled through the university’s website. There it was, bold and unmissable: “Example Essay: Amelia Harding.” She felt her breath catch in her throat, a sudden tightness in her chest. Her heart hammered against her ribs, a frantic drumbeat against the silence of her study. She blinked, rereading the title. The same essay, the one she’d poured her soul into, laid bare for the world to see. A wave of dizziness washed over her; she instinctively reached out to steady herself against the desk.
