The invitation read, "Reunion Cruise – Remember the Good Times!" Liam stared at the glossy card, the image of a smiling, overly tanned couple on a sun-drenched deck mocking him. Sarah had been so insistent about this. He shifted in his chair, the paper crinkling under his grip. He truly didn't recall the cruise being anything special.

“You *have* to come, Liam!” Sarah had practically begged over the phone. “It was the best trip ever! The food, the dancing, the… well, just everything!” He’d heard a catch in her voice then, a breathy enthusiasm that seemed… manufactured. He doubted he was remembering the same thing.

He ran a hand through his hair. He recalled seasickness, bland buffets, and a rather embarrassing incident involving a rogue inflatable flamingo. His memory was of a stuffy cabin and too much time spent dodging sunburn. This “reunion” felt more like a test.
