The old photo album lay open on the table, the pages brittle with age. Across from him, Mark gestured wildly at a snapshot from their college graduation party. “Remember the epic beer pong tournament, Alex? We were legends!” Alex, however, was struggling to dredge up any enthusiasm.

He recalled lukewarm beer, a sticky floor, and a general feeling of awkwardness. He did not recall legendary status.

Mark seemed to be rewriting history, embellishing every detail. He described a triumphant victory, a night of laughter and camaraderie. Alex shifted in his chair, trying to reconcile Mark's glowing recollection with his own. He was starting to feel… uneasy.
